For Immediate Release Contact: August 12, 2010 BLUE DOOR CHAMBER MUSIC AT THE PROVINCETOWN ART ASSOCIATION AND MUSEUM On Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 7:00 PM, Blue Door's Artistic Directors—pianist Deborah Gilwood and cellist Arthur Cook—will present a concert of Soviet, British and Russian music for cello and piano at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum. Included on the evening's program are sonatas by Prokofiev, Britten and Rachmaninoff. Deborah Gilwood and Arthur Cook founded Blue Door Chamber Music at the Provincetown Art Association in 1999. In 1985, they formed their collaboration in 1985 with performances and recordings that have captivated audiences ever since. The Newark Star-Ledger noted that “one marveled at their delicate yet taut reading, flawlessly paced... They gave ample demonstration of technical strength, musical intelligence, expressive power, and open ears." They have performed on many chamber music series at venues including Princeton University, the New School, and Lincoln Center. Their CD, Censored by Hitler: the Rediscovered Masterpieces, has garnered favorable reviews both here and abroad. Admission is $15.
